Falsifiability

If an explanation can accommodate every possible result, what observation could genuinely test it?

What it means, plainly

A claim is falsifiable when some possible outcomes conflict with it, allowing it to fail a test. For Popper, that possibility helps distinguish empirical theories, although passing a test never proves one forever.

Popper proposed falsifiability as a demarcation criterion: an empirical theory must rule out some possible outcomes. Passing severe tests may provisionally corroborate it, but never establish it forever.
